Wie der Herr Verfasser in der Einleitung ausführt, kann und will derselbe mit seiner Arbeit nicht etwas Abschließendes, Erschöpfendes bieten, was tatsächlich bei der überaus schnell fortschreitenden Technik des Automobils gar nicht angängig ist, sondern er betrachtet sein Werk als ein solches, das in gewissen Zeitabschnitten der Neubearbeitung und Ergänzung bedarf.
Die Absicht des Vereins ging dahin, durch Darbietung der sach lichen Erwägungen des Verfassers das Verständnis und Interesse für die Technik des Automobilwesens im Kreise der Mitglieder und möglichst weit über diesen hinaus zu beleben und zu fördern.
