Sin la potente accion del Estado no hubiera salido de la categoría de un bello proyecto la importantísima arteria que con el nombre de canal Imperial de Aragon difunde la riqueza por una extensa zona de la vega central del Ebro; y el canal de Tauste, que, gracias al auxilio prestado por el Gobierno de Carlos III, esparce hoy las aguas del mismo rio por la opuesta margen dando vida a una privilegiada comarca, acaso no fuera actualmente más que cegado surco de la antigua é im perfecta acequia que pasadas generaciones abrieron, sin calcular bastante la magnitud del sacrificio que su valeroso aliento les impusiera.
