Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the concept of monophyletism, an idea drawn from pre-Cuvieran biology, and its impact on zoological study and advancement. The author argues that monophyletism, the idea of a single origin for all organisms, forms a barrier to our understanding of the diversity of life on Earth. Through a comparison of monophyletism with polyphyly, which suggests various origins, this text presents an in-depth discussion on the evolution and development of multiple species. It thus sheds light on the complex relationships between different organisms and their place within the broader context of biological history.
