Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book focuses on the history of Columbia Point, a neighborhood in Boston, from its early settlement in the 1600s to the present day. The author explores how the area has changed over time, from its roots as a shipbuilding and fishing community to its current status as a diverse, mixed-income neighborhood. Particular focus is given to the efforts of HII Corporation, a Boston-based minority-owned development company, and its team of architects, engineers, and community planners that have played a vital role in the revitalization of Columbia Point. Through their work, HII has not only helped to create much-needed affordable housing for families and seniors, but has also preserved the area's historic character and fostered a sense of community. This book offers a valuable case study of how public-private partnerships can work together to revitalize struggling neighborhoods.
