Les ailes inférieures sont transformées en une longue lanière s'étendant un peu au delà de la moitié en fer de hache, qui se prolonge lui - même en une queue très étroite. La base est roux clair, le reste noir avec l'extrémité blanche. Le dessous des ailes est noir avec la moitié basilaire rougeâtre. Le corps est rougeâtre clair avec le corselet, le premier anneau de l'abdomen et le dernier héris'sés de poils noir. En dessous, le corps est tout entier d'un brun rouge clair.
Les antennes sont courtes, noires, et pectinées régulièrement.
