About the Author

David Rhodes worked as a national newspaper journalist before his ordination as an Anglican priest. In 1994 he joined the ecumenical project Faith in Leeds and began running his innovative ‘retreats on the streets’ to help Christians make the vital connection between their faith and social justice issues. This led to him presenting the BBC TV Good Friday programme, Passion in the City. Having subsequently been appointed Chaplain Missioner of The Children’s Society, he is now a freelance writer and conference speaker.

Synopsis

Combining moving stories from the inner city with the gospel, this volume explores the revolutionary idea that the good news of God's love is being spoken to a tired and damaged world by those rejected as worthless: the homeless and the poor.
