How to design a lean supply chain
This book is the culmination of a five year research programme carried out by Cardiff and Bath Universities into designing and implementing a Lean Supply Chain. The £1m research programme was run in co-ordination with 20 leading European based companies including Tesco, RS Components, Q8, Bass, Britvic, Nortel and London Underground. The research was designed to answer the question "How can you as a company become, or maintain your world class status within supply chain management?" The book describes the theoretical perspective of how this might be done as well as illustrating a practical approach through cases from the different companies involved in the research.
The text has been written by a group of authors led by Professor Peter Hines, Professor Richard Lamming and Professor Daniel Jones.
