Compends of History are sometimes written in the form of catechism. And this method has certainly very considerable advantages. But it is perhaps impossible to write a Compend in this form, of any considerable length, which will not be found extremely dry and uninteresting, unless the answers are so long, as to lose the advantages of this form.
