Spa. My hope would be that the first class may find in it a contribution to the better knowledge of an im portant Health Resort; and that visitors may be able to derive, not only some guidance in their use of the Waters, but also pleasure, from the perusal of its pages.

In the essay Strathpeffer Spa in 1887 it was not possible for me to offer more than rough outlines of a group of various topics. The same subjects are here dealt with in greater detail, and longer experience has enabled me to correct in some particulars, and enlarge in others, the conclusions first put forward. The lapse of time has also given opportunity for a much more thorough study of the Climate.
