The Gizeh Museum, like that of Bulale be/bre it, is now but a thing ofthepast. The moving of the monuments, begun on March 9 1 909 was finished four months later, on the 1 3 offuly. The setting up in the new rooms had, from the beginning, proceeded so as to keep pace with the moving, so that in the early days of August the new Cairo Museum could already, if necessary, have admitted the public no thing remained to be done but to cover over the bases and pedestals, and to give to the walls and pillars the triﬂing repairs always needed after thousands of heavy objects have been moved into place.
