It is a great pleasure for me to be able to state that a further examination of the palaeontological results of both the expeditions of 1877 and 1878 have much surpassed my expectations. A second palaeontological report is almost ready for publication. The materials for a third, containing a large number of new species of fossil plants, are nearly prepared.
