The terms of Mr. Arnold's licence being restricted to the perforrhance of Opera at the Lyceum Theatre, the author found himself under the necessity of introducing into his comedy of Tatcts upon tanalsns the prescribed number of songs; but as they did not please himself, he was apprehensive they might not, when stript of their musical accompaniments, prove more satisfactory to others: he therefore declined the immediate publication of the piece, and he now brings it.
