Excerpt from An Analysis of the Proposals and Conceptions of Socialism: Three Addresses
When Mr. Max Hirsch visited England in 1906 he was good enough to give me the right to publish these addresses. They were delivered by him in Melbourne, Australia, in July and August, 1904. In England as in Australia, many thousand copies were sold, and they were read by all classes of the community. N o sounder, no fairer analysis of the proposals and conceptions of Socialism is to be found in the literature on the subject. Mr. Hirsch has packed into these addresses the wscntial thought of years of profound study, and the reader, no matter what he has read before on the question, will find in them many new factors of vast interest.
