Excerpt from Picture Collections in Small Libraries
The librarian, herself, should be well supplied with pictures, that she may have' material to post when she wishes to attract attention to her bird books, art books, or reference lists. When possible the collection should include such pictures as may help the special student, or the mechanic. The far-reaching influence of beautiful pictures should be constantly borne in mind. Many times the small copy of a great work of art may have an influence for good not out of pro portion to the influence exerted by the original.
