Sec. 4. If its designation can not be ascertained from appearance, a preliminary assay shall be made. A temporary receipt shall be given the depositor pending the determination of the bullion, Which receipt shall be surrendered upon issuance by the weigh clerk of a regular receipt or return of the bullion to the depositor.
