Mortimer - Ternaux n'avait eu, en eflet, aucune connaissance de ces documents; mais, a l'occasion de la publication du tome II de mes Tableaux, il m'écrivit trés spontanément, le 20 Janvier 1870 J'en ferai certainement mon profit dans les prochains volumes de mon Histoire de la Terreur, et, pour ma part, je vous remercie bien vivement de la patience et du soin avec lesquels vous ave: rassemblé d'aussi précieux matériaux Mais le tome VII de l'histoire de la Terreur qui venait de paraitre resta malheureusement le dernier.
