Generally speaking I find little real contralto tendency amongst children from 10 - 12 years of age, but I have had in all my experience one exception when at the age of 10 years a child sang pure, deep notes naturally, and found great difficulty in producing high notes. This child preferred to sing in the lower compass, and after watching her carefully for some time I found her high notes developing until at the age of thirteen years she possessed a sweet soprano voice.
