Excerpt from Der Prozess, Und, Einer Muss Heiraten
Alexander victor wilhelmi, or rather zechmeis'i'er, for Wilhelmi was a name assumed on the stage and in litera ture, was born in 1817. Educated in Vienna, he entered business, but in' 1842 went on the stage, and from 1849 to 1876 resided in Dresden, where he was especially success ful in old servant roles. Ez'ner muss lzez'ra/en appeared in 1850, and under the title of Luslspz'ele there were published four additional volumes of his comedies from 185 3 to 1860. Failing health compelled him to seek a more genial climate in Tyrol; he died at Meran in 1877.
