Still another critic, too genial and generous for me to help loving and thanking him, yet thinks the Translator a little too unsettled in his views, too uncertain of his grounds, to be at all times consistent with himself. I trust that, what ever may have been the past. The reader can see nothing of this uncertainty in the book before him, or of inconsistency with itself.
