L'intr0ductz'on à la science de l'histoire fut mon premier pas dans la carrière philosophique. Aussi je me trouvai dans l'obligation d'aborder plusieurs problèmes qui, à la rigueur, ne touchaient pas directement à l'histoire, mais que j'étais cependant forcé de traiter, attendu le point de vue nouveau où j'étais placé, uniquement parce que je ne connaissais aucun autre ouvrage auquel il me fut possible de renvoyer le lecteur.
