Excerpt from Price List: Fall 1926-Spring 1927; The Monroe Nursery
We use the best ground obtainable for producing young trees. We use great care in budding and grafting so that all unions are as perfect as possible. We trim these trees intelligently so they will have good structure when they come to bear. Before digging they are properly matured and not stored until thoroughly ripe. We deliver trees produced only under the best conditions obtainable. When they reach you they are not soft, sappy, and depleted - they are Vigorous, thrifty, and full of life.
