Since the Cape Fear Columbus Association convened last year, the editor of the Biblical Recorder, Mr. Livingstone Johnson, has passed on to his reward. But a capable man was soon found to edit the paper in the person of Mr.'. J. S. Farmer. He is making it a real newsy and useful organ for the Baptist constituency of North Carolina. During the year just closing, a great effort has been put forth by the Baptists in many different ways to get more of the people to read the Recorder. 'and because of these special efforts on the part of many of our wide-awake pastors, Sunday Schools, B. Y. P. U. And other workers, the Biblical Recorder is being read by many new subscribers.

Most of the organizations, in our churches, even though showing a willingness to co Operate in the securing of new subscriptions, have found it in many instances difficult, partly because of the de pression now on, and because several of our people have not yet learned the. Value of the paper as a medium for imparting knowledge to the Baptists in our State.
