Excerpt from Address by Senator Rolandi Ricci, Recently Appointed Italian Ambassador to Washington, Delivered Before the Associazione Italo-Americana, Palazzo Salviati, Rome, December 29, 1920: Address by the Hon. Robert Underwood Johnson, American Ambassador to Rome, Delivered on the Same Occasion
The highest traditions of import trade have not been maintained, and the devastating cyclone of war has brought about the adoption of methods which indicate an undeserved want of confidence on the part of American exporters toward their Italian customers. There must be a return of confidence. We Italians have a right to be trusted.
