FR 0 M the firft appearance, in this city, of thc contagious malignant, peltilential or yellow fever, in $793, the College of Phyficians, agreeably to the principles of their inl'titution, {auctioned by a charter from the legiflature in 1789, have ufed their belt endeavours to check the progrefs and to guard againlt the future introduction Of this dread ful calamity. TO the repeated applications made to them, by the different departments of the {late government on the fubjeft, they have ever paid a prompt and refpeétful attention, and they now con ceive it a duty incumbent on them to publifh a concifc detail Of their former proceedings, and to explain more fully their fentiments on the nature, origin and prevention of this fatal difeafc.
