Ce détail, si glorieux pour notre Chevalier, a été signalé tout d'ebord dans un article de la Revue des dew-'mondes, du 1 janvier 1848 par Sainte - Beuve qui n'avait aucun doute sur le blessé en question. Mais plusieurs critiques (1) ont voulu con tester la personnalité en cause et soutenir que le chevalier dont il s'agit est Georges Brossin, mar quis de Méré. Nous allons restituer à qui de droit la blessure reçue ainsi au champ d'honneur.
