Two ounces will sow 100 feet of drill, 3 pounds required for an acre. Matures about 60 days from germination.
Culture. - Carrots require a very finely pulverized soil to grow them to perfection? Good, light, well-enriched sandy loam is the best for this crop. For field culture, sow in drills 3 to 3175 feet apart, so as to cultivate by horse. Market gardeners sow in drills, about 18 inches apart, and cultivate by hand. For early crops, cover 175 inch deep and thin to 6 inches in the rows: for late cover $5 inch deep and thin to 4 inches. L'
