Die Entzifferung der Inschrift wurde wesentlich erschwert durch die ausserordentliche Verwitterung der Steinoberfiäche, welche wohl infolge des bedeutenden Salzgehalts des Bodens umso stärker war und die Oberhaut mit vielen grösseren und kleine ren Löchern durchsetzte, die oft wie die Keilschriftzeichen selbst aussehen. Ferner ist der linke Rand der Inschrift im oberen Teile d. H. Die Zeilen 1-14 abgebrochen; durch die Spreu gung des Denkmals in zwei grosse Stücke sind die Zeilen 17-20_ grösstenteils verloren gegangen. Das unten rechts wieder ange fügte Bruchstück ist stark abgescheuert, das Ende von Zeile 33 endlich war wohl mit jenem zusammen abgebrochen und ist verloren gegangen.
