Some passages are excerpted from two or three authors, but as I omitted recording their names at the time, I was afterwards unable to supply the deficiency. My humblebrochure, is simply de signed to make many little things known to young and inexperienced oficers, who select the Police as a profession to such gentlemen I quote the Latin proverb, Id ego jam nuns renuncio tibi ut sis softens, which translated means, I repeat this caution to you that you may not act in ignorance, that is, that you may be on your guard.
