Diese Fälschungen, mitunter sehr gute, aber oft recht mindera wertige Nachdrucke und Kopien in fast gleicher Größe wie die Ori ginaldrucke, haben aber bereits derart überhand genommen, daß echte Ropsblätter immer seltener auf dem Markt auftauchen, während falsche Blätter, insbesondere solche, die nach dem Tode des Künstlers nach Originalzeichnungen oder Originaldrucken‚ oder auch nach bloßen Reproduktionen angefertigt wurden. Den Markt überschwemmen und fast immer als Ropssche Originalradierungen ausgegeben und verkauft werden. Auch die illustrativen Beilagen der meisten Publikationen über Kops seit 1905 sind so gewählt, daß sie vielfach Reproduktionen solcher Blätter bringen. Die von fremder Hand erst nach Kops Tode angefertigt werden sind.
