Synopsis

This edition has been revised in the light of changes recommended by the Accounting Education Change Commission. Real-company examples have been integrated into the text, with business and decision cases requiring students to reach business decisions and then communicate their decision. There is an expanded introduction examining the work of accountants as well as the importance of ethics, and coverage of activity-based costing systems has been increased.

Greater pedagogical use has been made of this continuous case, introduced in Chapter 2 and used through Chapter 5. This company has been revised to place greater emphasis on the information age, and for its appeal to students.
