About the Author

Bernard Moitessier was one of the world's great small-boat sailors. He became a legend not only among sailors for his incredible sailing feats, but also among ecologists and others for his commitment to transforming and improving the world. He wrote four other books, all classics of nautical literature: Sailing to the Reefs, The Long Way, A Sea Vagabond's World and Tamata and the Alliance: the first three are available from Adlard Coles Nautical. Bernard Moitessier died in 1994.
