About the Author
Jim Saltonstall was the RYA National Youth Coach for 23 years. With primary responsibility for the RYA Youth Race Training Scheme, he was appointed Great Britain's Olympic team coach in 1996 and was class coach at the 2000 Olympic Games. He received the Yachtsman of the Year award in 1984 and the MBE in 1997 both for services to sailing.
