Diese Unterlassung gut zu machen durch Abbildung von Abdrucken der besten erreichbaren Stücke bin ich jetzt durch freundliche Bemühungen von R. Von Schneider und besonders von W. Kubitschek instand gesetzt. Das von letzterem gesammelte numismatische Material wird in einem Anhänge von ihm besprochen werden. Hier sei nur hervorgehoben, dass nicht sowohl die Wieder herstellung der Ara Pacis durch diese Münzen Bestätigung erhält, sondern dass das Umgekehrte der Fall ist. Durch die in sich gesicherte Reconstruction wird es zur Gewissheit, dass die Neronischen Münzbilder und also wohl auch das Domitianische wirklich die Ara Pacis Augustae darstellen, wenn auch mit Frei heiten, die wir dem Stempelschneider überlassen müssen. Nur in einem Punkte werden die Bildchen uns vielleicht einen Fingerzeig geben.
