Ha parecido justo hacer mención de otros profesores de me rito, como lo han sido los que pintaron de miniatura en los, libros de coro y los que bordaron de aguja los ornamentos sacerdotales; en una y otra clase se hallan obras de gran dibujo y exquisito gusto. De los primeros bastará hacer aquí memoria de Juan de Salazar, que trabajó á mediados del siglo XVI y princi pios del siguiente unos misales, que yo he hecho encuadernar, y para ellos un Calvario, de cerca de media vara de alto, dedicado al señor Archiduque Alberto, con tan prolijos y exquisitos ador nos, que parece no cabe más en su línea, y de Francisco Obre gón, que en 1654 iluminó las letras iniciales ...del Salterio de vís peras; y por lo tocante a los segundos, merecen también partien lar aprecio Marcos de Covarrubias, Juan de Talavera, Alonso Hernández, Hernando de la Rica, Pedro de Burgos y _esteban Alonso, que bordaron los ornamentos de los senores D. Francis co Jiménez de Cisneros y D. Alonso Fonseca.
