Les éloges ont ému mon coeur sans flatter mon amour proe pre, parce que tous annoncent plus ou moins les illusions de l'amitié. Les critiques ne pouvoient m'éclai - î rer sans me causer quelque peine cependant elles ont obtenu ma confiance. Peu de réflexions - Suffi soi'ent pour me convaincre queries personnes à qui je suis entière ment étranger; ne pouvoient ni me juger sans impartialité, ni me condamner avec aigreur.
