Les plus connues sont celle du troubadour s'habillant en loup en l'honneur de la Louve et celle d'aprés laquelle Peire Vidal croyait avoir des droits à l'empire de Constantinople, pour avoir épousé une Grecque de naissance impériale. On trouvera ces légendes et d'autres dans la biographie provençale ce n'est pas le lieu de les discuter elles sont nées des poésies mêmes de notre troubadour.
