Le théorème d'abel été généralisé par M. Stolz; il subsiste lorsque x s'approche du point en restant dans un triangle inté rieur au cercle de convergence et ayant l'un de ses sommets au point 1. Le théorème de M. Appell est susceptible d'une généra lisation analogue.
De ces diverses propositions on a tiré un très grand nombre de propriétés particulières.
