This unique opportunity allowed the author to meticulously examine numerous type specimens and clarify their taxonomic status, shedding light on the complex systematics of this group. Throughout the book, the author explores the rich diversity of Unionids in Normandy, France, with a focus on resolving the identities of species previously described by other researchers.
