Excerpt from A Vision and a Voice From Two Worlds: Being the Experience of Mary E. Burns, as Related by Herself
He hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind.
T the age of twenty-one I was married and had a pleasant home for myself. Like thousands, who link their destinies with another, mine seemed bright and hopeful. I anticipated no trouble or sorrow. To add to the joy of my home there came to bless us a sweet babe, a daughter. As yet, no cloud had over shadowed our home, nor did I expect any. But how mistaken! I'was soon to enter the valley of sorrow. My husband was taken from me; the shadow of death fell upon my household. My dear child was fatherless, and I was a widow. In my loneliness, more than ever, my heart clung to my child. I had not yet learned to look for help and comfort from the true source. She was my only comfort, my all.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is the story of the author's spiritual awakening and journey after a life-threatening illness. Raised in the Methodist faith, the author experienced a profound conversion to Christianity in adulthood, but lost her connection to God amid life's trials. A sudden illness precipitated a transformative experience in which she witnessed both the glories of heaven and the horrors of hell. Guided by an angel, she was given a vision of her past sins and the promise of redemption through Christ's blood. The author's subsequent return to earth is marked by a renewed commitment to her faith and a deep compassion for the lost and suffering. Her personal testimony offers a compelling exploration of the power of God's grace to transform even the most broken of hearts, reminding readers of the hope and salvation that awaits those who turn to Him.
