George Dilnot (1883-1951) was a journalist and author. He is best known for his non-fiction books about Scotland Yard, famous detectives and celebrated cases and trial. He also wrote over a dozen mysteries and spy thrillers as well as numerous short stories including some in the Sexton Blake series. His series characters include Jim Strang, Inspector Strickland and Horace Elver.
