Synopsis

Excerpt from A Second Book in Latin: Containing Syntax, And Reading Lessons in Prose, Forming a Sufficient Latin Reader, With Imitative Exercises And a Vocabulary

The reading lessons are taken wholly from Cmsar and Cicero. No other writers (unless, perhaps, Nepos) should be used with beginners in Latin. A glance at the order of the extracts will show the principles on which the selection and arrangement have been made.
