In utilizing Stal's name, I have followed the stated policy of reporting the nomenclature and taxonomic con elusions of the most recent revisor. However, specialists in the Orthoptera may wish to decide whether or not the restrictions of the type-locality of Oedipoda luscoirrorata to Puna Island, Ecuador by Snodgrass (1902: 437) was legal and binding under the International Rules of Zoological Nomenclature and thus whether or not the selection of a lectotype from Galapagos Is. By Dirsh (1969: 46) is acceptable and valid.
