Dr. Henry 0. Marcy, of Boston, said he had not for the past ten years used an abdominal belt after coeliotomy; that in three hundred cases where he had closed the wound with tendon sutures and sealed with collodion, he had had but two hernias, - one from: suppuration, and one from general pouching of aponeurosis between the separated recti.
