When Sir Francis Burdett brought se tions against the Speaker and the ser jeant-at-arms, in 1810, for taking him to the Tower in obedience to the orders of the House of Commons, they were di rected to plead, and the attorney received instructions to defend them. A committee at the same time rted a resolution that the bringing eae ac tions for acts done in obedience to the orders of the house is a breach of privi lege, but it was not adopted by the house. The actions proceeded in the regular course, and the Court of King's Bench sustaimd and vindicated the au thori of the house.
