Synopsis
After Sir Alec Guinness' death in August 2000, two notebooks were found in his study, filled with his tiny beautiful handwriting. In the books he had jotted down quotations from favourite books, thoughts on Shakespeare, anecdotes from the theatre,and even remarks overheard on the street. And there was a one-page Introduction which suggests that he fully intended to publish or record it as an audio tape. About the Author
Sir Alec Guinness was one of the outstanding actors of his generation, for both theatre and film. He wrote three bestselling volumes of memoirs, most recently A POSITIVELY FINAL APPEARANCE (1999). All three are available in Penguin. Sir Alec died inAugust 2000.
