Synopsis
When Dolly Collins' father first sexually interfered with his seven-year old daughter she did what any other little girl would do and ran to tell her mother. But Dolly's mother didn't believe her and Dolly was left to face repeated abuse by her father and subsequently by both a neighbour and the parents of a friend. Eventually she got psychiatric help and this book recounts that therapeutic process. This book is an account of survival and recovery which challenges both orthodox therapy and the gross inadequacies of the NHS in identifying and treating survivors of sexual abuse.
