Synopsis

Many people were scared to walk out of their doors. There was a shortage of food and empty stores. Families were divided and struck with fear. The preacher said the end of the world was near. Poetry heals the soul when you are going through stormy weather. During tough times, we must come together. Rhymes from the Round Table is a collection of 50 hot topics for conversation. These poems were written during the catastrophic pandemic that shut the world down. Alshaun Dixon, author of the book "A Dark View from the Tower," takes you on a journey from his kitchen round table. He discusses his various thoughts and opinions on politics, race, religion, sports, sex, war and other trendy events of interests. He looks at the Haitian Situation, Gullah Geechee gentrification, widespread Misinformation and the Industry Plants and Fact Checkers who influence the Cancel Culture society. These rhymes are satirical, controversial, comical, provocative, compelling and engaging. Dixon's gymnastic wordplay is hip, and it flips the reader through uneven bars and balance beams. He Follows the Money on a Full Ride while Running the Point to Save the Children. His lyrics on Krazy Karens, Deez Nutz, and the Toilet Tissue Issue are both entertaining and enlightening. The heartfelt memories of fallen rap artists and the tribute to the "Black Mamba" are nice additions to these eclectic conversations.
