About the Author

As the title suggests, writing this book bought me out from beneath an overwhelming darkness and led me towards hope; it helped me to begin looking ahead to a brighter future. I have been writing since I was 15 years old and studying in boarding schools, and even while staying with hundreds of kids I felt alone and unable to speak my mind. Writing my thoughts and feelings helped me learn how to express myself without the fear of being judged. With this book, I have tried to share what we all experience at a certain point in time, thinking it is only us. I wish to relate to thousands of other voices and thoughts.
