About the Authors

François Berthier is professor of Japanese art and history at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales in Paris. Graham Parkes is professor of philosophy at the University of Hawaii.

Graham Parkes is Professorial Research Fellow at the University of Vienna and a Visiting Professor of Philosophy at East China Normal University in Shanghai. He is a recent translator of Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, and now works mainly in East-Asian and environmental philosophies.
