Conversation with Neil's Brain - Hardcover

9780201632170: Conversation with Neil's Brain

Synopsis

Neil is an epileptic undergoing surgery which necessitates mapping his brain, and his case is used as a vehicle to explain the workings of the brain to a general audience. Calvin is a neurophysiologist and Ojemann a neurosurgeon; but neither is a great writer, and the information, though inherently fascinating, is bogged down in fictional conversations and "novelistic" narrative. From the Author

A Tour of the Brain
Neil is a patient with epilepsy, and this book follows Neil through a long day of brain surgery. But most of the book is about conversations with Neil, before and after, and they're mostly about how the brain works. I'm a neurophysiologist, and George Ojemann is a neurosurgeon, and we wrote the book for general readers, interested in either psychology or brain science.
